I welcome you to the office of the Vice President; Academic Affairs (The Registry). The Registry is responsible for the general implementation of the Academic Policies and Programmes of the MIST.
The primary mandate and activities of the registry includes;
Admissions and Graduations
Working together with Boards and Committees under the Registry, the registry processes applications for the admission of qualified applicant into various programmes at MIST, as well as the graduation of students who successfully complete their programmes of study.
Students’ Records
The Students’ Records is responsible for the coordination, registration, issuing of Identification Cards and Academic records of students. The Unit is in charge of processing and issuing of certificates, transcripts, attestations and introductory letters, verification and certification of students’ academic documents.
Teaching and Examinations.
The Teaching and Examinations Section prepares teaching and examination Timetables, allocates space for teaching and examinations and conducts examinations. The Section also coordinates matriculation and congregation.
Affiliation and Accreditation
As a University College, yet to attain its autonomy, MIST continuously work closely with its affiliate and mentoring institution, and rely on it for the awards of its certificates. MIST affiliation desk therefore performs the daunting task of constantly relating with its affiliate body as well as its regulatory institution to ensure compliance to quality and standards required of a tertiary institution
Boards and Committees;
The Boards and Committees section ensures the smooth running of the committee system in the University and services the Academic Board and Executive Committees. The section also coordinates the production of student handbooks and Academic calendar/schedule of meetings as well as orientation programmes for undergraduate freshers among other functions.
STAFFING
The Registry is headed by the Registrar, who is also the Vice President, Academic Affairs, MIST, NAA ALI SEIDU PELPUO. He is assisted by a Deputy Registrar and other supporting staff who manages the various sections under the registry.
