We are one of the institutions in the world committed to highest standards of academic excellence. Through our programmes in Civil, Mechanical, and Oil and Gas Engineering, we train students to develop a culture of non-acceptance of second places. We also expose them to the breadth and depth of integration of the knowledge of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Technology to solve engineering problems.
We provide an environment that promotes academic freedom necessary to unleash the creative and innovative potential of students as well as promote ethical behavior based on Islamic values. Also, the focus of our curricula is to give students critical skills to provide ethical leadership in their communities as taught by the Qur’an and the Hadith.
We are well connected to industry through our well designed and relevant curricula as well as partnership with many organizations. Our partnership with industry offers students the opportunity to practice in a real
workplace environment. Our career center provides the needed support for job search and career management as well as incubation of ideas to support pursuit of entrepreneurship.
We provide individualized attention and support that stimulates creativity and innovation. Our lectures are conducted in a small class setting, providing the “by the fire side” and “boardroom” type of environment that stimulates free exchange of ideas.
We transform ordinary individuals into exemplary, ethical, and transformational leaders through teaching, research, practice, and mentorship.
We expose our students to the most modern and sophisticated technologies, needed to inspire change through creativity and innovation. We transform students from users and consumers of engineering knowledge and information to producers.
We are strategically located at Lakeside Estate in Eastern Accra. It is one of the fastest growing communities, serene, and close to everything. We are few meters away from the Marina Park and East Legon. We allow campus tours at your convenience.
Society now appreciates engineers who are creative thinkers, well -grounded, analytical, and ethical, with the ability to identify societal engineering needs and provide solutions, leveraging theory and practical experience. At the MIST’s School of Engineering, we are dedicated to training students who aspire to learn and understand the breadth and depth of how to lead in the field of engineering. We provide the environment and resources that encourage hands-on learning, scholarship, and research culminating in provision of solutions and
service to communities. At the school of Engineering, we offer spectrum of collaborative research and practical oriented programmes in Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Oil and Gas Engineering. The school is nurturing a culture that encourages faculty, student, alumni, families, and industry collaborations and partnerships to work towards changing the world with engineering solutions. I welcome you on my own behalf and that of the faculty of School of Engineering to the school. As you explore learning opportunities, I hope you will find the information provided here useful.

Our undergraduate degree programmes integrate thorough understanding of Engineering theory and practical applications, in a hands-on and research driven learning environment that gives students’ ability to pursue professional advancement and to offer effective leadership in the field of engineering. Our curriculum offers students the foundation to become captains in areas of Civil, Mechanical, and Oil and Gas Engineering. As capstone to completion of our rigorous programmes is training in creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
BSc, Civil Engineering
BSc, Oil and Gas Engineering
BSc, Mechanical Engineering
This programme is purported to train high level technical personnel in designing and construction management to solve everyday construction problems related to structures, foundations, environmental and transportation systems, waterways, ports, irrigation, drainage, and water supply and treatment. We also expose students to the relationship between planning, designing, and supervision of construction facilities to other areas of engineering to facilitate the development of new perspectives and innovation. Students enrolled in this programme are exposed to requisite technology and ethical values needed to lead in the field of engineering throughout their training.
In a relaxed and stimulating environment we create, our students are exposed to theory and practice of mechanical engineering and auxiliary fields, such as materials, micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), information technology, nanotechnology, and bioengineering. On completion of the programme students will have understanding and appreciation of important issues in mechanical engineering such as Modeling and simulation; power generation; design of machinery; manufacturing; guidance systems; product design and development; robotics; propulsion engineering; system analysis and design; and many others.
Energy has become one of the major drivers of global economies. Many economies and societies are becoming more reliant on premium fossil fuels such as oil and gas. The Oil and Gas industry therefore needs improvements and sustenance in order to continue to propel growth. This programme is designed to train students in theory and practice to identify, analyze and leverage knowledge of science and technology to provide engineering solutions in the oil and gas industry. Also, our Students with the support of faculty and experts examine areas including Petroleum and Natural Gas Extraction, Petroleum reservoir Engineering Design, Oil Well Drilling Laboratory, Reservoir Modeling, Production Process Engineering among others to give them the capacity to solve simple and complex everyday problems.
